10.6.18 Kory and Michael read their vows at Central Lutheran Church followed by celebrating with their family and friends at the Minnesota History Center.
When planning for their big day I had asked Kory how she wanted the night to feel. She followed up by saying, "We will have elegant and timeless decor. The feel will be formal but fun! - Our families like to party". She was spot on in her prediction! The decorations were beautiful and their families definitely knew how to have a good time!
Dinner was held on the beautiful second floor rotunda in the center of the Minnesota History Center. Kory, Michael, and the wedding party made their introductions down the grand staircase to 'No Matter Where You Are by Us The Duo'. During dinner, if guests wanted Kory and Michael to kiss we did a game I like to call musical trivia. When guests would clink their glasses I would call out a specific table and play them a short clip of a song. If they were able to get the song and artist correct Kory and Michael would kiss, and if they got the question wrong someone else at that table would have to kiss :).
As dinner was finishing I fired up the photo booth on the third floor where the dance would be
held and guest started to make their way. Kory and Michael chose to not only have the photo booth but also a monogram and uplighting in the dance area. It looked amazing! They had their first dance to 'I Get To Love You by Ruelle'. Michael then danced with his mother to 'In My Life by The Beatles'. Lastly, Kory's father joined her on the dance floor for a choreographed dance to a mashup of several songs! After a group photo the dance floor was open!
During planning Kory had stated a tradition of a specific song she wanted to be played during the dance. I of course was going to play it but to be honest I was a little nervous on how people would react. The lyrics were not a song most would expect to hear on a happy day such as a wedding :). But as soon as I played 'Goodbye Earl by the Dixie Chicks' Kory and a handful of her family members were running out to the dance floor entertaining their guest singing at the top of their lungs!
We wrapped up the night with one last song as Kory and Michael and their remaining guests danced to 'Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble'.
-Best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Kory Roe!
